Support Assistant at Fallström's Short-Term Unit

In the city of Mölndal, we take pride in having Sweden's most important jobs, where together we create the best possible everyday life for our citizens. With knowledge, courage, and creativity, we develop our operations and contribute to making Mölndal an even better place to live and work. Welcome to make a difference in people's daily lives every day!

The Health and Care Administration, with approximately 1500 employees, is one of the administrations in the city of Mölndal and encompasses elderly care, support for disabilities, and health care.

Fallström's short-term unit was established in October 2023 and is a facility for short-term placements within social psychiatry. We cater to users with mental disabilities and comorbidity. As we are a relatively newly started and growing unit, there are great opportunities to influence the operations together with the manager and colleagues. We are now looking for a new colleague who wants to help create the best possible everyday life for our users.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a support assistant, you work to support the user in their daily life by creating a comprehensible, manageable, and meaningful existence while working preventively and in a structured manner. You provide professional support and strengthen each individual's self-esteem and belief in their own abilities - all work is based on the user's individually established action plan.

You are involved in establishing and/or maintaining social networks. Your role also involves supporting users in developing their communication skills and sense of belonging, as well as providing support in social activities, both individually and in groups. Some users also have care needs. The goal is to support full participation in society based on each person's individual wishes.

You work motivatingly and mapping out based on evidence-based methods such as ESL, motivational interviewing (MI), low-arousal approach, and clarifying pedagogy. You participate in planning for the reception of new users and from day one work in a structured manner, while also planning together with the user for their next steps.

To thrive and succeed in the role, it is important that you are comfortable with outwardly acting users, substance abuse issues, mental disabilities, and comorbidity. Since it is a short-term unit, you also need to enjoy frequently receiving new users.

You belong to a team of support assistants and support pedagogues, but also collaborate with social workers and method developers. You work with social documentation in the documentation system Treserva and continuously follow up and revise the action plans. We work with operationally adapted and flexible schedules. The needs are continuously adjusted based on the needs of the operation, which means that you need to be prepared to work during the day, evening, weekends, and on-call.

We value your ideas and engagement, and together we create conditions for development and an independent life for our users.

Does this sound like something for you? Apply today and become part of our fantastic team!
